A big boost for a Contemporary Cook

As a restaurant owner, Erik Truchses is a small businessman that most people wouldn’t think would see a benefit from the expansion of the oil and natural gas industry. But its been a boon for Contemporary Cook Catering and Cafe, his restaurant in Greeley Colorado.

Like any business its taken time to grow his relationship with those energy companies. What started out as some small orders turned into regular orders to provide regular meals for hundreds of hungry oil and gas workers.

As he puts it, “The impact of the last year has been pretty big for us.”

He says the expansion of the industry has helped him by buoying the local economy and providing additional walk-in customers. This same sentiment is found in every area where the energy industry is expanding. New workers provide a boost to local businesses as they seek services and have more money to spend. A rising tide really does lift all ships.
